Robberies.

--The storeroom of Wm. Batton, living on Duval street, was broken into on Thursday night and robbed of all the flour, lard, bacon, &c., which he had on hand.--The window fronting on the street was hoisted, after which the thieves entered the house, found their way to the groceries, and bore them off. In this neighborhood the citizens are greatly perplexed to know what to do to protect themselves, as many of them have been stripped of all their supplies, and in spite of all their vigilance they have not been, as yet, able to discover any of the perpetrators.

On Thursday night the store of James Moore, on Franklin street, near the Old Market, was forcibly entered from the rear way and robbed of a large amount of choice groceries. By means of prizing instruments the thieves succeeded in opening a way into the building, after which they helped themselves to what they wanted, leaving the avenue open as they retired.
