P. H. Daughtrey died in Portsmouth on the 19th instant. He was the City Attorney for Portsmouth — a man of warm feelings and attachments in his social relations, and kind and benevolent in his disposition. His health had been declining for years. He died of consumption. Mr. Daughtrey represented his district in the Senate some years ago.

There are now but 2,022 workmen employed at the Charlestown (Mass.) navy-yard, 1,500 having been lately discharged.
