Οἰνόη , , (οἶνος)
A.Oenoë, name of two Attic demes,
1. of the φυλὴ Ἱπποθοωντίς, on the Boeot. frontier near Eleutherae, Hdt.5.74, Th.2.18, Str.8.6.16Οἰνώνη codd.).
2. of the φυλὴ Αἰαντίς, near Marathon ; Οἰνόη or Οἰναῖοι τὴν χαράδραν, prov. of self-inflicted ruin, Zen.5.29, Hsch. : loc. pl. Οἰνόησι IG12.845.5.
II. Adj. Οἰναῖος, belonging to one of these demes, ib.22.99,1623.5, 1926.130, etc. ; also “ΟἰνοαῖοςSIG541A3 (Delph., iii B. C.).
