δώσειν: has two heterogeneous objects. cf. “ἔγχεα καὶ μένἐ ἀνδρῶν Δ” 447.

κλυτοπώλῳ: with glorious horses. Why Hades should be represented with a chariot (hardly one in which he might convey the dead), has not been clearly made out.
