--The Kinston (N. C.) correspondent of the Raleigh Journal, writing on the 5th inst., says:

‘ There is no longer any doubt as regards the death of Lieut. Camp, of the 3d N. C. cavalry, in the skirmish below Greenville last week. We lost two others killed and some few wounded on this unfortunate occasion, whose names I have not been able to learn up to this time.

’ The horses and men captured by the enemy were mostly of Starr's battery. We lost one piece of artillery, as I stated in my last letter. Our men on this occasion, as usual, allowed themselves to be completely ambuscaded and surprised by the Yankees.

We got decidedly the worst of the fracas. Not withstanding, some of our folks fought desperately, considering the circumstances under which they allowed themselves to be placed, and amongst them was the lamented Lieut. Camp, of the 3d cavalry, who, I am informed, view two Abolitionists with his sabre a few moments before his fall.--If the news from below be true, the Yankees are landing troops at Morehead City.
