Snow in New Orleans.

--The unusual occurrence of a snow storm in New Orleans is thus recorded in the N. O. Picayune:

We put it on record that yesterday, Feb. 18th, 1864 New Orleans saw a snow storm. The air in early morning had "the feel" of snow; the sky presented the dull, slaty clouds that betoken snow; at O o'clock the snow came; then it didn't; at noon it began again; and for hours the air was (to be alliterative about it) fairly filled with flying, fleecy, feathery fast fallen, flakes, and fleeting — for the flakes melted as fast as they fell. The thermometer, all day nearly, indicated 40 deg above zero and the weather was wintry and uncomfortable — And all this with lettuce growing in our gardens and each trees in blossom. No wonder that the blossoms blush for spring.
