Receiver's Sale of Negroes — In pursuance of an order of the District Court of the Confederate States of America, for the Eastern District of Virginia made on the 19th day of December, 1862, in the case of the Confederate States vs Wm P Edlor.
I shall as Receiver of said Court, proceed on Tuesday the 7th day of April, 1863 at the auction rooms of Lee & James, on Franklin street, in the city of Richmond to sell at public auction, for cash the following slaves into the property of John and Robert Ward, alien enemies, viz: John King and Mat Jones old men, old Mary and young Mary, Martha and her four children, and Alexander and Poter, boys, aged about 14 and 16 years.
