No circumstance was brought to light tending to criminate him, though the examination was continued till Tuesday, in order to allow the production of two Commonwealth's witnesses whose evidence was deemed important. It indue to Mr. Craige who has been conducting business here in selling sewing machines for several years past, to say, that he proved a most unacceptionable character, both as a citizen and man of business. Andrew Johnston attorney at law; Wm. H. Benson, tailor; A. Bargamin, Jr., Dr. John P. Little, James D. Brown, Wm. Booth, N. C. Barton and others, testified in his behalf, and the first-named entered himself as surety ($500) for the appearance of Mr. C. at the next examination. It will sometimes happen that in the endeavor to ferret out and expose enemies of the South. (of whom there are too many in our midst,) cases of individual hardship and injustice (by reason of misdirected suspicion) will arise.

Floyd Brigade. This very gallant military organization has now the following companies in camp near Wytheville: From Wythe.--The Minute Men, Captain Gleaves; Mt Airy Roughs and Readies, Capt. Buchanan. Carroll.--Rough and Readies, Capt. Lundy; Reed Island Rifles, Captain Bolt. Grayson.--Grayson Rifles, Capt. Davis; Wilson Rifles, Capt. Perkins. Tazewell. Tazewell Rangers, Capt. Harman; Floyd Guard, Capt. Harrison; Tazewell Boys, Capt. Whitley; West, Augusta Rifles, Capt. Brown. Smyth.--Dragoons, Capt. Thompson; Grays, Capt. McDonald. Bland.--Sharp Shooters, Capt. Grayson. Nelson.--Rangers, Captain Fitzpatrick. Wise.--Yankee Catchers, Capt. Selyear. General Floyd has selected for the commanders of the two Regiments now organized, Col. Reynolds and Col. Harry Heth. They are both officers of the best military education. Gen. Floyd will bring into the field one of the very finest military bodies--one of the most hardy and efficient — that is in the service. 25 Dollars reward. --Ran away from the Richmond Arsenal, about the 20th of July, a negro man belonging to Mr. R. A. Smith (from whom be was hired,) named Peter Miles, sometimes calls himself Peter Redd. He is 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, gingerbread color, and carries himself very erect; when he left the arsenal he wore a grey suit of clothes.
