I have the honor to be, Colonel, very respectfully, your obedient servant, W. P. Carlin, Brigadier-General Commanding. To Lieutenant-Colonel D. C. Mcclurg, A. A. G inois volunteer infantry, whom I relieved at Kingston, Georgia, by order of General Carlin.
The operations of the command during this period consisted of a series of Kingston, where it remained until the twelfth.
At this place, by order of General Carlin, I assumed command of the brigade on the eighth of November.

About four o'clock P. M., December twelfth, by order of General Carlin, I moved my brigade to the right, crossed the Ogeechee Canal, and relieved ing with thirteen days rations and three days forage, and to report to Brigadier-General Carlin, commanding First division.
