--Judge Lyons presiding.--In the case of James Davis, tried for stealing money from James Johnson, the jury yesterday rendered a verdict of guilty, and sentence of one year's imprisonment in the penitentiary was pronounced.
The prisoner's mother, who was present, was overwhelmed with grief at the result.
Henry Cooper was tried for stealing a watch and a pistol from Frank B. Garnett, at the Exchange Hotel, and convicted.
His term of imprisonment in the penitentiary was fixed at one year.
George Black, indicted for stealing a watch from James Broderick, was arraigned, and the jury having been sworn, further proceedings were postponed until to-day.
The case of John A. H. R. Armistead, indicted for grand larceny, has been continued to next term.
