--The telegraph has announced that a movement, on the part of Grant's army, has commenced.
This intelligence is foreshadowed by the intelligence from that quarter published in our Northern news this morning.
The Atlanta Register, speaking of it, says:
The announcement of the passage of the Tennessee at Bridgeport by a column of Federal troops develops to some extent the plans of Gen. Thomas.
Bridgeport is 28 miles east of Chattanooga, the railroad connecting the two points.--While we hold Lookout Mountain on the northwest side of Chattanooga, and thus command the railway at its base, it will be impossible for Thomas to secure supplies for his main army in the city.
He expects, by the movement of this column in our rear, to induce the abandonment of Lookout Mountain, and thus open communication with Bridgeport, Shelbyville, and Murfreesboro'.
