emy at West Point, and was a member of the graduating class of 1836, which included also Joseph R. Anderson and Christopher Q. Tompkins, of Virginia; Montgomery C. Meigs, of Georgia; Peter V. Hagner, of the District of Columbia, O'Brien, of Pennsylvania; Allen, of Ohio, and others, all prominent in the existing war.
