Robbery and Attempted murder. --A few nights since two white men, named Albert Kirby, a shoemaker in the employ of the Confederate States, and Joseph Young, a pilot on the Confederate steamboat Hampton, made an assault upon two negroes, named John Lawrence, free, and Oliver, a slave, with the intent of robbery and murder. After being knocked down and beaten till it was thought life was extinct, they proceeded to rifle their pockets of everything they contained. The criminals were yesterday arrested by officers Davis and Granger and locked up for safekeeping in the lower station-house.
