Important to army officers. --Gen. Gustavus W. Smith, commanding the Department of Southeast Virginia and North Carolina, issued yesterday an important order concerning army officers. As the Provost Marshal has been directed to see that his officers execute the provisions, we transcribe the portion affording intermation to the parties concerned, which reads as follows: "All officers now in the city, or hereafter to arrive, not on duty or not furnished with a leave by proper authority, shall report to Col. Shields, commanding at Camp Lee." It is further ordered, that the Provost Marshal's officers shall direct them to report as above, and see that they do so in twenty-four hours; and a facture will subject all delinquents to being reported and tried before the Court-martial. For some time past there have been an unusual number of officers in the city, and the above measure may have been adopted to ascertain the reason why.
