Wise mounted Guard. --The members of this company have been for some time encamped at Howard's Grove, preparatory to entering the service for the war. An election for officers was held yesterday, with the following result: Captain, Lewis J. Hawley; 1st Lt., J. L. Capston; 2d Lt., Wm. Wayne, Jr., Junior 2d Lt., Stephen B. Hawley; Orderly Sergeant, Geo. R. Blake. Capt. Hawley was formerly 1st Lieutenant of Caskie's Rangers, and is a brave and intrepid solder. His company will do good service.

5th and Cary streets, by permission, addressed the Council. There were in that hospital 149 patients, of which 40 were convalescent, and could not communicate the disease — An order was given Thursday for their removal to the new hospital at Howard's Grove, and they had been sent there. The removal of the other patients would be effected speedily. The number in the hospital was composed of soldiers, and was exclusive of those in the city hospital, some of whom were a so soldiers, and would be removed at an early day to Howard's Grove, where there were accommodations for 600 patients. Mr. Wanne offered the following resolution, which was adopted: Resolved, That the Committee on the Hospital respectfully recommend to the Surgeon General of the Confederate States to cause all small-pox persons in the employment of the Confederate States to be removed from the city and its suburbs to houses in the surrounding country, or, in the event of this not being practicable at once, to

Wynne, Chairman of the Committee on the City Hospital, stating that the committee had succeeded in obtaining from Surgeon General Moore three wards of the C. S. hospital at Howard's Grove, capable of accommodating ninety-seven patients, which had been opened for colored patients alone, and placed in charge of Dr. John P. Little, with suitable adjuncts in the way of a superintendent, housekeeper, and nurses. The City Hospital will be continued in the charge of Dr. A. Snead.
