Author; born in Powelton, Ga., March 8, 1822; graduated at Mercer University, Georgia, in 1841, and a year later was admitted to the bar. In 1857-61 he was Professor of Literature in the University of Georgia.
He was an officer in the Confederate army throughout the Civil War. In 1867 he moved to Baltimore, and engaged in authorship.
