The Alabama Rangers. --This fine company has arrived in Richmond. Like all the troops who have yet made their advent in Richmond, they will prove dangerous customers in an encounter with the enemy. They started from home the latter part of the last week. Their arms are Mississippi rifles and those potent persuaders huge bowie-knives. A part of their uniform is the Zouave cap, worn for convenience in fighting. The Rangers are commanded by Capt Royston, and John C. Reid 1st Lieut. The members are mostly from the town of Marion, in Perry county. The corps was formerly mounted, but ascertaining that their services would not be accepted as cavalry, they willingly dismounted to accomplish their object; and a number of the members, who had horses given to them, returned them to the patriotic donors. The company has tendered its services during the war.
