Williamsburg (Virginia, United States) (search for this): article 11
Affairs about Williamsburg.
A private in Company "E," Tenth Regiment Georgia Volunteers, stationed near Williamsburg, Va., writes (July 25th) as follows:
It seems to be decreed that we are not to have a fight here.
At any rate, we have despaired of having one at present.
Yesterday one of our companies went off to hunt one, and I sincerely hope that they will get it be fore they return.
We are prepared and willing to be attacked by any number of the vandal hordes that may come against us.
All here are on up-too with enthusiasm, in consequence of our great victory at Manassas.
We only wish we may have a chance to show our hands in a game with the scoundrels.
