robbery or murder to accomplish the most petty result on which he had set his affections. He is now under arrest. Patrick O'Neal was also arrested as an accomplice of Duff a s Pearce in the murder. It appears that a comrade of Kelley's, named Downes, was most dangerously stabbed at the same time. He was conveyed to a Military Hospital, in the lower part of the city, and on Saturday was not expected to live. Alice Hargrove, and a "pal" of her's named Julia Selden, were caged for keeping a death by wounds inflicted by two sharp weapons: one in the hands of a man named Dick Duff, the other supposed to be in the hands of one of three men, named — McKay, Bob Moore, and Frank — all of whom the jury believe to be accomplices in the deed. Wm. Downes, the other party stabbed by the ruffians, died on Saturday night, at the Georgia Hospital, 20th street. The verdict in his case was similar to the one above recorded We presume the accused will be brought before the Mayor this mornin
