Matters in Middle Tennessee. The latest news from the front in Middle Tennessee is that all was quiet along our main lines, but that a pretty brisk fight had occurred between a small squad of Gen. Morgan's cavalry and a large force of the enemy, on Friday last, upon our right, and that our cavalry were compelled to fall back. The bridge over the Watauga, lately destroyed by Carter's (Yankee) cavalry, has been rebuilt. --The work was finished and the train passed over it on Tuesday. The work on the Holston bridge, at Zollicoffer, is progressing rapidly, and it is expected that it will be finished by the 1st of March, The Chattanooga Rebel says the "signs of the times" in the regions of the front are represented is exhibiting but one idiosyncrasy.
