From Suffolk. A gentleman who left the vicinity of Suffolk Thursday says the town has not been burnt by the enemy, nor has it been evacuated. The great bulk of the forces there has been withdrawn, but the place is strongly fortified, and there are enough of the vandals left to man the fortifications. Nearly all the houses between the Clerk's office and Nansemond River bridge have been mutilated and cut to pieces, for fuel, but no buildings in the town have been burnt.
