Atrebătes

A people in Gallia Belgica, in the modern Artois, which is a corruption of their name. Their capital was Nemetocenna or Nemetacum, subsequently Atrebati, now Arras. Part of them crossed over to Britain, where they dwelt in the upper valley of the Thames, in what is now Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
