Aetōlus

Αἰτωλός). The son of Endymion, who founded Elis and Iphianassa. Having accidentally killed Apis, son of Phoroneus, he fled with a band of followers into the country which afterwards was called, in his honour, Aetolia (q.v.). See Apollod. i.7.6.
