DRAJNA DE SUS Muntenia, Romania.

Roman castellum in the Subcarpathian mountains, on the road that leads to Transylvania through the Bratocea pass. The castellum is rectangular (200 x 176 m) with stone walls and towers at the corners. Among buildings discovered inside are a praetorium and a horreum. In the castellum and in the civil settlement nearby were found many tiles with stamps of the Cohors I Flavia Cornmagenorum and of the legions of Moesia Inferior, I Italica, XI Claudia, and V Macedonica. On the basis of the coins discovered here, it has been established that the castellum was built between 102 and 105 during the wars against the Dacians and that it was abandoned at the beginning of Hadrian's reign, along with other Roman camps of N Muntenia.
