A.not being the fault or cause of a thing, guiltless,ἀναίτιον αἰτιάασθαιIl.13.775, cf. Od.20.135, etc.; “αἰτία ἑλομένου, θεὸς .Pl.R.617e; ἀναίτιος ἀθανάτοις guiltless before the gods, Hes.Op.827, cf. E.Med.730; “. παρά τινιX.Cyr.1.6.10; “. αἷμα ἐκχέαιSIG1181.6.
