Torqua'tus, Nove'llius

of Mediolanum (Milan), lived in the reign of Claudius, and obtained the surname of Tricongius by drinking three congii of wine at once, that is, nearly eighteen English pints! (Plin. Nat. 14.22. s. 28.)
