18. Of BYZANTIUM (2), styled DIACONUS et RHETOR, a Monothelite of the time of Maximus the Confessor [MAXIMUS CONFESSOR].
He was Synodicarius (or representative in some synod) of Paul, patriarch of Constantinople, an appointment which indicates the esteem in which he was held.
