Cameron was in New Orleans; and John McKay, Jr., of Canton, was chosen to fill the vacancy.

This company was named in honor of Major-General Benjamin Lincoln, of revolutionary renown.
This regiment was ready to march on the 16th; but transportation could not be arranged until the next day. Its destination was Fortress Monroe.
It left Faneuil Hall at three o'clock on the afternoon of the 17th, and marched to the State House, where it was addressed by Governor Andrew, who said,—
