A New Auxiliary for the Southern Arms.

Mr. Robert Wells, an æronaut, who is now serving as a private with Capt. Ray's company, of the Second Regiment, Morris' Island, has been experimenting with his balloons, and has ingeniously devised means of steering them on any given course. He is ready to offer his services to the Southern Confederacy in his æronautic capacity.--Charleston Mercury.

The truth is, the South can meet the North in strategic invention, at all points, whether it be in the field or anywhere else beneath the sky. Higher than that no Hessian engaged in an unholy crusade against the South will ever go.
