this progress along the road of dishonor, men of Athens, if I am to tell the truth in all candor, nobody is more
to blame than yourselves. You are no longer willing to bring malefactors to
justice: retribution has disappeared from our city. Yet consider how our
ancestors castigated those who had done them wrong, and ask whether their way
was not better than yours.
