Label, a seal appended to a deed, as the custom was of old: “ere this hand, by thee to Romeo sealed, shall be the l. to another deed,” Rom. IV, 1, 57. Used for the deed itself: “I found this l. on my bosom,” Cymb. V, 5, 430.
