A.exchange, change, ἐσλὸν πήματος good for ill, Pi.O.12.12; [“οἱ ἐχῖνοι] μ. τὰς ὀπάς” Arist.HA612b6.
2. change to another form, “ἐκ βοὸς . . μετάμειβε γυναῖκα” Mosch.2.52; “μ. φρένα” Nonn.D.4.182.
3. remove, τινὰ Λαμνόθεν dub. cj. in Pi.P.1.52; γᾶν τέκνων τέκνοις μ. hand down land to children's children, E.HF 796 (lyr.).
II. Med., change one's condition, ἐκ προτέρων μεταμειψάμενοι καμάτων having escaped from . . , Pi.P.3.96: abs., μεταμειβόμενοι ἐναλλάξ in turns, Id.N.10.55.
