I.to fall together, meet in battle, come to blows, Lat. concurrere, Hom., Hdt.: ς. ἐς νείκεα Hdt.: to encounter, κλύδωνι Eur.; νηί Thuc.
2.generally, to fall in with, meet with accidents, misfortunes, c. dat., Hdt., Soph.
II.of ailments, events, to fall upon, happen to, c. dat. pers., Aesch., Isocr.; also ἔς τινα Hdt.
2.absol. to happen or fall out at the same time, concur, id=Hdt.
4.impers., συνέπεσε, it happened, fell out, came to pass, c. inf., id=Hdt.; ξυνέπεσεν εἰς τοῦτο ἀνάγκης ὥστε . . matters came to such a pass that . . , Thuc.; or c. acc. et inf., id=Thuc.
III.to coincide, agree or be in accordance with, τινί Hdt.: absol. to agree exactly, id=Hdt.; ἐμοὶ σὺ συμπέπτωκας ἐς ταὐτὸν λόγου have come to exactly the same point with me, Eur.
IV.to fall together, i. e. fall in, collapse, of a house, Lat. concidere, id=Eur., Thuc.; σῶμα συμπεσόν a frame having collapsed from disease, Plat.
B.συμπίτνω poet. for συμπίπτω, when the penult. is to be short
I.to fall or dash together, of waves, Aesch.
II.to concur, id=Aesch.; c. dat., Eur.
