Clazomĕnae

Κλαζομεναί). An important city of Asia Minor, and one of the twelve Ionian cities, on the north coast of the Ionian peninsula, upon the Gulf of Smyrna. It was the birthplace of Anaxagoras, and was also celebrated for its temples of Apollo, Artemis, and Cybelé.
