1. The father of Lysimachus, was a Thessalian Penest, but obtained the favour of Philip through flattery, and was raised by him to high rank. (Theopompus, apud Athen. vi. p. 259f., &c.; Arrian, Arr. Anab. 6.28. Ind. 18.)
