Oeo'nus

（Οἰωνός), a son of Licymnius of Midea in Argolis, was the first victor at Olympia, is corrupt. in the foot-race. (Pind. O. 11.76, &c.; Apollod. 2.7.3; Paus. 3.15.3.) He is said to have been killed at Sparta by the sons of Hippocoon, but was avenged by Heracles, whose kinsman man he was, and was honoured with a monument near the temple of Heracles. (Paus. l.c.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
