--Private accounts from New Mexico represent that the Texas Special Commissioner had met with but little success in his secession efforts in that Territory.
The prospect of an extra session of Congress is not encouraging.
Many of the Republican Senators are opposed to it. The subject has not seriously occupied the attention of the Administration.
The Light-House Bureau has almost entirely suspended operations, owing to the invalidity of the funds.
