A curious case.

--A curious case has arisen in the courts at Santiago. The Secretary of the Russian Legation had occasion to go into one of the courts corresponding, say to Common Pleas. He carried a cane, and on entering placed it beside the door, in the corner.--Now it appears that it is not allowed to carry even a cane into a court-room. So, soon after the Secretary took his seat the Judge called the doorkeeper to cast that cane out the door. It was done. Shortly afterwards the Secretary crossed one leg over the other. This, too, is not allowable. The Judge called the doorkeeper to straighten out that man's legs. The doorkeeper appears to have misunderstood the order. At all events he came with a pair of fetters, which he was going to put on the innocently offending Secretary, who there upon rose and withdrew. Accusation has now been made before the Supreme Court against the Judge, and at the present moment the case is under examination. The Attorney General asks the Court to remove the Judge from office, and also to put him in prison. The Secretary is noted for his eccentricity of dress. However, it is said his behavior was not meant to be rude or discourteous.
