--The stockholders of the Virginia Savings Bank have presented to Samuel S. Cottrell, Esq., their President, as a taken of regard, and in recognition of his valuable services in the management of the financial affairs of the institution named, a valuable service of silver plate, consisting of a splendid pitcher, two fine goblets, and an elegant waiter. The articles were obtained from Messrs. Mitchell & Tyler, and were gotten up in the usual recherche style of that well known firm. Each piece has on it an appropriate inscription. Such articles, while possessing intrinsic value, are more to be regarded as acknowledgment of duty well performed.
