By the Governor of Virginia
--A Proclamation.--Information having been received by the Executive, that Stephee B Hanley who is charged with horse stealing, has escaped from the jail of Henrico county, and is now going at large: Therefore, I do hereby offer a reward of fifty Dollars to any person or persons who shall arrest the said Stephen B Hanley and deliver him into the jail of said county; and I do moreover require all officers of this Commonwealth, civil and military, and request the people generally, to use their best executions to procure the arrest of the said Hanley, that he may be brought to justice. Given under my hand as Governor, and under the Lesser Seal of the Commonwealth, at Richmond, this 25th day of February, in the year 1863.
Stephen B Hanley is six feet high, spare made, dark hair; had on when he escaped a black frock coat; dark checked pants, and high wool hat; is rather inclined to stoop; is usually spoken of as Cant Henley, and is or was recently in service in that capacity. fe 28--d&3t
