Mayor's court.

--The following is a summary of the cases before the Mayor yesterday:

George, slave of James Wood, charged with stealing iron from the Old Dominion Iron Works, was ordered to receive thirty-nine lashes.

William Gentry, a huckster in the Second Market, was fined twenty dollars for buying turkeys to sell again. The fowls were confiscated.

John T. Mathews, suspected as a party engaged in the robbery and killing of Michael Rourke, again appeared before the bar to answer that offence; but the failure to obtain any evidence implicating him in the crime caused the Mayor to discharge him and order him to rejoin his command, he being a soldier.
