Rutŭli

An ancient people in Italy, inhabiting a narrow strip of country on the coast of Latium, a little to the south of the Tiber. Their chief town was Ardea, which was the residence of Turnus (q.v.). They were subdued at an early period by the Romans, and disappear from history (Livy, i. 56). See Turnus.
