Narrow Escape.

--The Rockingham Register. of the 7th inst.,says:

‘ Our townsman, William H. Rodeffer, attached to the Tenth Virginia Regiment Band, now in service, had the forefinger of his right hand shot off on New Year's night about 11 o'clock. He was lying in his bed asleep when it occurred. The shot was accidental, and was fired by a member of one of the Louisiana. regiments stationed near Manassas Junction. The ball passed through a plank 2 ½ laches thick before taking off his four fingers.
