--Joint resolutions to pay Deputy Marshals for taking the Texas census in 1860 were printed; also bill to establish supernumerary offices in the Commissary and Quartermaster's Departments.
Joint resolutions recommending an inquiry into the propriety of raising the salaries of Department Clerks, &c., war reported, with a recommendation that it do not pass.
The following bills were passed: Authorizing the Secretary of the Navy to appoint clerks to the Commandant and Quartermaster of the Marine Corps; for the establishment and equalization of the grade of officers of the Navy; prohibiting the punishment of soldiers by whipping; for the establishment and organization of the Army of the Confederate States; amending the act relative to the sequestration of the estates of alien enemies.
The bill regulating the fees and compensation of District Attorneys was reported on adversely.
The Committee on the Judiciary was discharged from the consideration of a resolution inquiring into the expediency of so amending the mileage of District Attorneys as to allow it in certain cases.
The Senate refused to reconsider the vote authorizing newspapers to be mailed to soldiers free of postage.
The bill establishing the Judicial Courts of the Confederate States was laid on the table.
The bill allowing the Comptroller of the Treasury the privilege of obtaining the legal advice of the Attorney General was postponed indefinitely; also the bill to provide for transportation of persons who have been mustered into service for the war; organizing Military Courts to attend the Army of the Confederate States in the field, and to define the powers of said Courts.

Very little business of public interest was yesterday transacted in the House of Representatives.
A resolution was adopted that the House meet tomorrow in the Hall of the House of Delegate of Virginia.
On motion of Mr. Boteler, of Va., a resolution was adopted authorizing certain parties to withdraw their papers from the Committee on Claims.
Two bills introduced by Mr. Boudinot, the delegate from the Cherokee Nation, were referred.
The House, under a resolution offered by Mr. Lyons, of Va., drew for seats in the new House, after which they adjourned.
