Forged Confederate coupons.

--If the devil himself has yet conceived any act of mean villainy that the Yankees would not readily adopt to put money in their pockets, he has grown ashamed of it. Not satisfied with stealing negroes, robbing and killing defenceless women and children, desecrating churches, burning houses, violating official pledges, and boldly advertising and selling counterfeit money, they are now counterfeiting and attempting to pass Confederate coupon bonds on their own neighbors. Yesterday a gentleman residing in Maryland arrived here and exhibited to Commissioner Watson and others a counterfeit coupon bond which had been passed upon him in his native State. Offering to sell a piece of property which he no longer needed, one of Ape Lincoln's minions offered to purchase it at a fabulous price and to pay for it in C. S. coupons, every one of which were counterfeit. With a civilized nation such villainy would be promptly punished; but with Yankees it will be considered a cute trick.--Brokers and others should be on the alert for these new counterfeits, as thousands of them will be poured into the Confederacy in a very short time.
