2. A machine for leveling roads (see road-roller) or for garden-walks. Corrugated or toothed rollers have been introduced into land culture, and are known as clod-crushers. This is the normal idea of a roller, but these ridged or spiky cylinders are more effective in breaking than their smooth relatives.
