Death of John A. Lancaster. We regret to learn that this gentleman, one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens, died at his residence on Thursday. He had been suffering for several years under a dropsy, and his death was not unexpected, either by himself or his friends. Mr. Lancaster was one of a class which iMr. Lancaster was one of a class which is fact passing away, and the like of which it is probable we shall not see again. He was one of those old-fashioned, strong-minded, upright Virginia merchants, who gave a name to Richmond for enterprise and activity, when she was yet little more than a village.
