affair one of agreement between the parties and caused Myers to be arrested. Of course Myers, according to his own account, did not know anybody who followed him in the store. He exhibited a pass signed Walker Lucas, aid to General Winder, entitling him to walk the city, which the Mayor said was of no account. Mr. Myers was committed in default of $150 security for his good behavior. Hustings Court--Quarterly Term--October 15th. Present: R. D. Sanxay, Senior Alderman; James Bray, N. C. Lipscomb, Wm. W. Timberlake, and Jno. W. Beveridge, Aldermen. Mary Eliza Dean, a free negro, emancipated since 1806, made application to remain in the State. Ordered that the Court assemble to-morrow to hear the same. The Court reversed the judgment of the Recorder Va Clinton James, a free man of color, sentencing him to 39 lashes, and ordered that he shall receive 25 lashes.
