On the night of Sunday, the eighth of March, 1863, it may fairly be considered that the account was discharged. To come to the narrative of the event alluded to, and which it is the design of this paper to describe: Previous to the eighth of March Captain Mosby had put himself to much trouble to discover, the strength and positions of the enemy in Fairfax county, with the design of making a raid in that direction, if circumstances permitted.
