is. Two morning trains from Philadelphia were overhauled at Magnolia, twenty miles from Baltimore, and Major Gen. Franklin captured. One of the trains is reported recaptured. Hunter's forces occupied Martinsburg and Hagerstown on the 11th, but the rebels held the South mountain passes. Dispatches say the whole force operating around Baltimore city is not over one thousand cavalry, under Harry Gilmore, and yet the American says they have the city surrounded. It is reported that Gen. Tyler escaped. Grant has sent word if the forces around Baltimore and Washington can take care of those places and repulse the rebels, he can attend to Richmond satisfactorily. Telegraphic communication has been reestablished with Philadelphia. Monday night last dispatches from Baltimore stated that the rebel cavalry were in three miles of the city, and rebel forces were in line of battle near the first tollgate, on the Seventh street road, three miles from Washington.
